There's something magical about the way social media brings people together, and that's exactly how I met Mikayla. One of my favorite ways to connect with amazing couples is through Facebook wedding groups. A while back, I shared images from Cameron and Noah's beautifully witchy wedding in the Witchy Weddings Facebook group. Little did I know that post would lead me to one of my newest couples.

Not long after seeing my post, Mikayla reached out to me. As we started chatting, we quickly realized we had a couple of mutual friends. It instantly felt like we had known each other for much longer. I knew from the very beginning that we were going to create something unforgettable together.
When we started planning their engagement session, Mikayla told me she wanted a location with a spooky, enchanted vibe. Challenge accepted!
After a little internet searching, I discovered the incredible ruins at Sopes Creek. The abandoned paper mill felt like something straight out of a fairytale. Moss-covered stone walls, towering trees, weathered windows, and just enough mystery made it the perfect backdrop for their romantic engagement session.
As an Atlanta engagement photographer, I'm always searching for locations that tell a story, and Sopes Creek couldn't have been more perfect for Mikayla and Braden.
To make the evening even more magical, I brought along a pair of vintage lanterns to guide us through the ruins as the sun began to set. They added the perfect warm glow against the cool stone walls and made everything feel like we had stepped into another world.
From twirling beneath the trees to stealing kisses inside the old stone windows, every moment felt effortless. We laughed, explored, and completely embraced the adventure.
There may have even been a moment where I pretended to be a princess standing in one of the windows...
Okay...that was definitely me.
As darkness settled in, our adventure wasn't quite over. We found ourselves climbing hills, laughing the entire way, trying to figure out how to make it back to the car without getting lost. Somehow those unexpected moments always end up becoming some of my favorite memories from a session.
That's one of the things I love most about engagement sessions. They're about so much more than beautiful photographs. They're about creating memories together, embracing the unexpected, and documenting your relationship exactly as it is.
Mikayla and Braden, thank you for trusting me to bring your vision to life. Your love is so genuine, playful, and full of joy. Spending the evening wandering through the ruins with you both was an absolute blast, and I'm counting down the days until I get to photograph your wedding this November.
If your engagement session is any indication, your wedding day is going to be nothing short of magical.
